We cater to a loving readership of U.Va. students, faculty, and alumni who seek alternative and opinionated views of U.Va. life and culture, as well as of larger issues outside the scope of our little brick-built university. In terms of being U.Va.-centric, we've historically aimed to represent the voice of the student body, addressing issues in depth, expressing opinions, cultivating activism, providing a forum for creativity and style, and, of course, poking fun.

In addition to our weekly Features, which vary in topic and style from week to week, you'll find news analysis in our Front Line department, cultural write-ups in Scene, personal opinions in Columns & Reviews, and record reviews in Dec Discs.

Viewpoint is more or less the Dec's lead editorial, Signatures is more or less the Letters To The Editor page, and The Dec Toon has more or less disappeared. Our most popular sections are the Calendar page and Poodah Corner, both of which you're probably best left figuring out yourself.

Our staff is made up of U.Va. undergrads of all majors, interests, hair colors, and general temperaments. And we argue a lot. 'Nuff said.
